OUR COURSE

ADVANCED INTERVIEW AND INTERROGATION

In most criminal cases, getting the truth from a suspect strengthens the case and gives prosecutors more reason to move forward with prosecution.

Although many suspects will admit their crimes with minimal effort by investigators, there are a number of suspects that will only tell the truth when the investigator is “on their game”.

This 2-day course will take the student beyond learning the theory of interview and interrogation; we will show the student how to effectively deliver interrogation themes and other truth enhancing techniques designed to close the interrogation with the truth.

DETECTING STRESS AND DECEPTION
We train the student to recognize stress caused by deception as well as the verbal, non-verbal, and language indicators of both truthful and non-truthful persons. We do this by incorporating videos of real interviews to reinforce what we teach and to encourage classroom discussion.

CONDUCTING THE INTERVIEW
We train the importance of building rapport, establishing a baseline, gathering the facts, obtaining a timeline, avoiding false confessions, encouraging conversation, and tactically introducing evidence.

GETTING THE TRUTH
We teach numerous methods to strengthen theme-based interrogations and other truth enhancing techniques designed to effectively close the interrogation with the truth. Hours of video will reinforce how the techniques work and how they are applied. We also teach the importance of conducting ethical interrogations and exonerating innocent persons from suspicion.
